EDC Gold is a business opportunity that has become very popular over the past couple of years.  There is a lot of controversy on the Internet about whether this is a legitimate home business opportunity or if it is just another scam.  In this review, we will take a closer look at the EDC Gold business opportunity.

EDC Gold was started by Craig Garcia and Mike Corcoran. It was actually launched as Easy Cash Daily in December 2006 and was revised and became EDC Gold in November of 2006.

EDC Gold’s Products

Becoming a member of EDC Gold involves purchasing the resale rights to a library of digital products that include software and ebooks about marketing a business on the Internet.  The concept itself is great.  Selling digital information products is one of the best businesses to be involved with Online.  Digital products can be sold over and over without having to stock inventory or shipping products.

The downfall with EDC Gold’s product library is that many of the ebooks and software are outdated and the information being taught is no longer valid. As an Internet marketer with over 10 years of experience, I was able to recognize this right away.  However, most people would never know the difference.

That being said, I think EDC Gold has a great concept, but it is unfortunate that the library is not filled with the latest cutting edge marketing information.  If the library was full of material from today’s Internet marketing experts, it would be one of the best opportunities going.

Joining EDC Gold

People who join EDC Gold have an opportunity to join at 3 different levels.  There is EDC Gold at $997, Easy Cash Daily at $397 and Your New Fortune at $69.95.  Personally, I think these price points are pretty good.  Even if someone doesn’t have a lot of money to get started, they can still get involved.  They even allow a free week trial which you don’t see in very many business opportunities.  During that time, you have access to all of the products and tools and 40 hours of training.  I like this about the program because you get to take a close look before you hand over $997.

EDC Gold’s Compensation Plan

EDC Gold’s compensation plan is your typical 2-up plan.  For those of you who don’t know, that means that your first two sales are passed up to your sponsor  before you begin to earn your commissions.  After the first two, you begin accepting 100 percent of the commissions.

A lot of people complain about 2-up compensation plans, but I don’t mind them so much.  Losing your first two sales is not that big of a deal.  All of the people who sign up underneath you lose their first two sales as well.  I think it all balances out in the end.  Many of the people who complain about these types of compensation programs are the ones with toxic negative mindsets.  If you are success minded and plan on making a lot of sales, you don’t worry about losing a couple sales.

EDC Gold’s Marketing System

I like the fact that EDC Gold is more of an automated sales system.  This eliminates sales calls, meetings, and the other aspects of your traditional Network Marketing type businesses.  These automated sales funnels are really the way of the future of direct sales.  They put things on autopilot so you have more free time to enjoy your life.

However, I am not crazy about the standard marketing system that comes with the system.  If you notice, the heavy hitters are using their own custom systems for these types of business opportunities.  As with any of these businesses, when a lot of people are using a standard replicated web site, the market begins to get saturated and the system begins to lose the pull it once had.  I suggest if you are going to join EDC Gold, you join a team that has a custom system that you can use to get started.

If possible, I highly recommend using a custom version of the team’s site.  A custom site does not cost that much.  I have a team in India that can create one of these sites for a few hundred dollars.  Ultimately, you are going to want to begin to brand yourself.  I could go on and on about this topic, but that is really a subject for another article.

EDC Gold Review Summary

So in summary, I would say that EDC Gold is not a scam, but I would not join the program myself.  Although it has some good features, the product itself is lacking and I would not personally join a program that doesn’t have a great product that I would want, business opportunity aside.  If the library was filled with valuable information from top marketers, I would find the opportunity much more attractive.
